Evolution
The idea of a forensic science journal published by the Forensic Science Department came initially in 2006. However, due to different issues, we couldn`t apply it until the beginning of 2008.
At first glance, the magazine was supposed to have four numbers per year. However, after our first year`s evalluation, we decided to publish it two times per year, in order to protect the quality of our publication. Step by step, we`ve increased our quality standards: at our beginnings, the presence of abstracts and key words was not mandatory, and when it became so, we accepted them in Romanian language, without insisting on using an international language. However, at the end of the year 2009, we understood the necessity of a large transparence and the necessity of using international language (english) abstracts and key words.
From 2010, the concept of peer-reviewing was also implemented. In order to ensure a maximum degree of objectivity, the “double-blind” method was chosen. Furthermore, for the last two issues only best experts from the field of public order and national security (including forensic science) are involved in the evaluation process.
The present goal remains an increased quality of our content and the capacity to offer to our readers (large public, students, but especially academic personnel and experts from the field of law, public order and national security etc.) an useful tool in the help of scientific research.
For present, our immediate goal is to increase the international visibility of our journal thru linking it to international databases and being able to offer (on request) english version of the journal.
