Forensic Science Forum is a limited-access scientific journal published by Forensic Science Department from Romanian Police Academy with the support of European Association of Scientific Research.
The journal was founded in early 2008 by professors from “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” Police Academy from Romania, with the straight intentions to provide to the Academic community an environment for publishing original research studies and articles, and as a stringent need for a journal able to respect the highest standards related to the fundamental principles of scientific research. At the time the Journal was first edited, there was also a lack of scientific journals with international dissemination within the Police Academy, thus the current project has emerged.
Since issue 1/2015, following the memorandum signed between Forensic Department (main publisher of the Journal) and European Association of Scientific Research, the journal is supported by this non-profit association from the point of view of financial support but also thru the general development of the journal. One of the first achievement from this partnership was the inclusion of Forensic Science Forum in CrossRef system, developed by P.I.L.A.
Initially published only in Romanian language, with free access to the full contents of our publication, the journal has evolved - quality standards have been implemented over the years. The reviewing polices are strict and are concerning aspects such as the paper`s originality (every article is plagiarism-scanned), the innovation, the utility and importance for both scientific community and operational work, as well as the compatibility with our publication`s domain (main or secondary).
The journal is focused on original studies, articles and research from the field of public order and national security - research areas linked to the Internal Affairs, law, any other disciplines and areas considered to be related to the work of law enforcement agencies (especially the ones from Internal Affairs domain), concentrating on the field of forensic science. The criteria related to the admissibility of every article is related to our internal policies, and, as such, each evaluation is developed in accordance with every article`s content.
The journal is intended to promote and sustain the work of different categories of authors, such as students from Romanian Police Academy, professors, forensic specialists etc. We offer waivers for our authors originating from Academic environments, as well as for the operational personnel from the active structures of Police.
We currently accept a maximum of 10 articles per issue, with the possibility to extend those to 15, upon editor`s in chief decision and following internal evaluations.
Our magazine is published twice a year (June/July and December/January) - the deadlines being announced in the section dedicated to news and updates. The articles can be published in both Romanian and English languages.
